Default Help with door check pin

Just installed a new check pin in the door but now Im hearing a clicking noise every time I swing the door. Already used penetrating oil on it but no luck. The pin actually moves around.

I think the noise is from arm going in and out of the door, not the pin. Did you try lubing the arm?

edit: Didn't watch the video... x2 on ZG's post, just be careful that you don't bust the spot weld on the door strap though.

Is it the 'barb' on the restraint arm 'clicking'? Try some spray white grease on it both above and below.

penetrating oil is not a lubricant, white grease or silicone is.

I told you I'd send you that extra can of clear waxoyl...works just like white silicone lube. Drow nailed it with that comment though, WD40/PB blasters are good for breaking rust and sticky stuff, but don't use them for lube
