Default Help! Gear shifting issues

I'm working with a Disco 2, I'm having some trouble figuring out what's going on with my automatic tranny.
I've already adjusted the shifter linkage because it wouldn't go into park.

Now it is engaging R but not D,1,2 or 3.

Any ideas? Or advice on places for getting more information about the transmission and linkage?

Thanks in advance.

The RAVE is a compilation of all the Land Rover service manuals. You asked for places to get more information.

Find it for free at www.landroverresource.com

If you have a scanner and having some P0705, Then it might be the transmission switch. If you adjust the cable, the switch beside the transmission moves to another position which sometimes end up selecting another gear. PDF below

Cable - selector
Check
1. Position vehicle on ramp.
2. Select position 'P'.
3. Loosen selector cable trunnion nut.
4. Ensure that gearbox selector lever is in 'P'
position, (fully forward) and tighten trunnion
nut.
5. Lower ramp.
Simple & 2nd page just for reference, don't remove 'C' clip.
