It started a couple days ago, whenever im pulling off from park it seems to be sticking in first gear, rpm's go abnormally high, before finally giving way and shifting into second gear. My parents gave me the car theyve had it for couple of years already, not sure what prob could be, i dont know the last time tranny was serviced could it be something simple??? please help.

 

How many miles on the tranny, how often is it serviced?
Does this only happen on the first upshift or on every upshift.
Sounds like the trannies govener is sticking.
