RE: HELP !! my '00 discovery 2 died
I had a similar problem this morning on my '98 Disco. Started the car up first thing, seemed very slightly sluggish to start. Went to coffee shop on way to work, walked out and noticed i'd left my lights on. Car tried to start would didn't. Turned off lights, and it finally started, tho sluggishly as if low battery. Drove to work fine, all freeway, but when i pulled into parking lot, it seemed to be on an unusually high idle after taking foot of gas. It rolled on it's own pretty quickly into my parking spot. After a few seconds of letting it idle in my parking slot, it finally idled back down to normal. Turned car off/on a few more times. Still seems a bit sluggish to start up.
Seems like typical battery issue to me. Could it be more, like both battery/alternator issue? Anyone have any insight?
Thanks!

If both the M (manual) and S (sport) mode lights flash together this indicates an electrical fault with the automatic gearbox. If the lights continue flashing after the vehicle has been brought to a stop and the starter switch turned off and then on again, seek assistanfce immediately.- LR Owners Manual
If these are gone now prob OK, if dies while driving with no start, is it turning over or dead? If its dead and you just changed the batt, the alt is prob not charging the truck. Go with Mike and get it checked out.
Hope that helps.
