In response to the Rover vs. Saturn piece, I think I can relate. I believe that the misconception is that if you pay more for a vehicle (possibly 50 100% more) over another, the more expensive vehicle should be built better to take more abuse or last longer - thus needing less money to be spent on it for repairs. Or, that the vehicle should be capable of driving underwater, flying, or some other fantastic feat that the less expensive vehicle can't do. I have encountered this thought process at times and even admit to thinking it once or twice - usually just when I'm facing a broken Rover with my wallet open! Haha!
