Are you getting a check engine light/codes? Maybe a bad tank of fuel? Does it stumble/run rough right before it dies?...or just shut off like someone turned the key off? Does it start right back up? Did this symptom start suddenly or has it been getting worse over time? What have you done to the rover lately, any type of repairs?

Brian.

Start by reading the codes you should have a ultra guage always checking the temps etc and the ultra guage will read your engine codes

Crank position sensor will do that too. Then it will start up after it cools down. Take to autozone. Ultra gauge is a reasonable one to buy to have on hand. That way you can also watch your temperature. With the aluminum heads, by the time the gauge tells you its hot your already damaging it. It won't do ABS but it will read all your engine codes and you can clear them.

Yes, have the codes read and we can go from there.

Brian.
