Default Help!! Oil is green like the Grinch

First of all want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year, you've all been more than helpful with your posts and knowledge answering my questions I've had with my truck thank you! I wish you all a tick and leak free 2018!

Anyways Twas the Night Before Christmas I was changing my oil and my Rotella 15w 40 which has been in there since June of 17 has a strange very dark green tint to it at first I thought it could be coolant as my coolant is very green and new and it leaks!! Looks like it's leaking from the front of the engine most likely the old water pump my truck has 77,000 miles on it but I was told it could be the front cover however I would assume the bearings would get cooked very quick if it was leaking into the timing chain but don't worry about that because I will be renewing the water pump, oil pump gears, gaskets, fan, fan clutch, and maybe doing an inline mod early next year anyways....

I just want to know why my oil is green??? I know a lot of people use Rotella so maybe someone else has seen it. I know it's green cause I emptied some into a see-through glass measuring cup from the kitchen.

Ever put oil dye in the truck to help find a leak?

ugh wish i did, but let me say it's only a tint, like the oil looks very dirty and black but it's a slight tint like think of the darkest color green there is.

Remove the oil fill cap and tell us what you see under it. And also look down the oil fill neck with a flashlight. Anything lite green there?
AR asked about oil leak dye, what about any Oil Stop Leak/or Oil Additive?

Gorilla Snot maybe

Seriously, what color is/was your coolant and also the coolant dye you used?

The coolant may be leaking into the oil!

Since you just changed the oil, how about putting a couple miles on the truck and checking the dip stick?

The fresh oil should be able to show if there is any coolant in it by looking at the texture of the oil on the dip stick.

IF someone put dye in the oil to check for leaks, there still may be a little bit in the fresh oil even after a change.
