Help removing the steering wheel
Sit in the drivers seat, Nut removed, take your fists and alternate hitting the wheel at 9 oclock with your left hand, and 3 oclock with your right hand, as quickly as possible. What you are trying to achieve is a harmonic in the shaft to loosen it up. And remember to tape down the clock spring to keep it from moving while the steering wheel is off. Good Luck
Would it help to have the key in the ignition and a quarter turn to free the wheel and keep it from locking?
My brother is probably 3 times as strong as me, maybe he can give it a good pull.

Did you ever get your steering wheel off?
I just removed mine last night to replace the rotary coupler and while it was difficult, it wasn't as stuck as yours seems to be.
I wrapped the wheel in rags and then gave it some good blows with a rubber mallet hitting from behind. Eventually I could see it moving a bit forward on the column and then I grabbed, wiggled, and pulled like mad. Just about hit me in the face when it came loose. I'm certain I would have a broken tooth if I wasn't paying attention.

Hey Schwaggy no my steering wheel is still being an ignorant piece of junk. I had read online that somebody used a fly wheel puller on a 95 DI to get the steering wheel off and I'm wondering if I could try the same. I am really frustrated though...
dont waste time w/ the pullers...i even tried w/ a gear puller, but there is no good way to support the puller brackets....ditto on harmonic taps...believe me, mine suddenly came loose while trying in vain for what seemed to be hours. my best advice is just to keep trying...sorry pal
. Thanks guys.
