Default Hesitation only noticeable at idle

The wife is complaining about a "hesitation" when she is stopped for a light or stop sign. I drove the car and finally noticed that there is a very slight hesitation or rough idle for about 1 second then it goes back to a smooth idle. This occurs one to four times at random during the stop. When it occurs there is no noticeable change in the tach....Any ideas what this could be? I recently had the spark plugs changed about two months ago, and just noticed this issue.
Thanks.

Only way to really tell to have a shop scope it and see if something is going on.

If you want to try to rule some things out....

prob should have changed the wires too, but that prob not the issue.

Run some BG44k through a tank of gas.
Clean the intake with a safe intake cleaner...not just carb cleaner.
IAC valves/pcv like to be cleaned/replaced every so often.
Find a shop that can do the 2 step BG induction cleaning or something similar. SeaFoam sort of works for this, but it's not as good my any means.

That is not even close to the only way to find the problem.

Before you start throwing money at things like the guy above mentioned, you need to do a few checks to try and narrow the problem down. All of these steps should be free to do and will give us more insight into what your problem might be.

1) Is the check Engine Light on? Autozone will read your codes for free. This will hopefully tell us a lot more (vac leak, misfire, O2 sensor).

2) Are you having any coolant loss?

3) Check the spark plug boots to make sure they are all pushed on the plugs all the way.

4) Check the wires for arcing at night with a spray bottle.

Get back to us with the answers to these questions and we'll go from there.

Cleaning the intake on a Disco is waste of money?? How many miles are on it?

While it wasn't bad advice given, good luck finding a nearly random, 1 second, minor hesitation by looking at the engine.

After checking the plug wires, clean the fuel delivery and intake and see if runs better.

Further, there is no mention of whether the wife is putting in grocery store brand regular fuel or top tier brand name premium gas.

Could just be she has been filling up at the quick mart.

I have a hesitation exactly like that.

It's been there since I've owned it. In that time I've had heads done, plugs, wires and coils replaced. I've done Seafoam and cleaned intake. Always fill with premium. Zero coolant loss, new hoses and thermostat.

Still shudders at idle. Someone once suggested replacing o2 sensors, but I haven't done that yet. Good luck!

I didn't say it was a waste of money. I said don't start throwing money at it when you don't even know what the problem is. There are plenty of things to check before spending a dime. Rushing to tell someone to spend money on a repair before asking if there are even any trouble codes is a little silly, but you obviously know something I don't.
