Default Hesitation when cold after changing plugs. Plus CE now on.

Question: I installed the new Magnecors yesterday and now I have some hesitation when the engine is cold. I also hosed down the engine compartment, but even if some of the wires had gotten wet yesterday, it should have all been dry now. Especially since I drove my daily 135 miles...

Any suggestions? If a wire were to be loose, I would imagine a misfire at all times, even when gdriving and when the engine is warm.

The Service Engine Soon light came on this afternoon as well, shortly after starting the car.

Thanks!

Sorry, I meant changed wires, not plugs...

so you still have your old plugs in? Check your CEL to see what it says (probably mis-fire) It may point you in the direction of which wires are to blame. Then pull your plugs and check them. What kind of plugs are you running?

Yes, still old plugs. Not sure which ones, which is why I want to replace them next weekend with Bosch 4+ plat.

If a wire is bad, could it cause a rough running engine when cold but no problems when warm?

It could.. get the codes read and see if it gives you a specific cylinder to look at.

Ok, will do when I have a chance.

Funny thing is that this morning there was no hesitation at all. Cold start at 47F outside temperature. I may see if I can get a set of replacement wires just in case...

Thanks for your help!

i am betting one or more of your wires is not snapped on all the way.

when i did my wires the rig fired right up, but as soon as i put it in gear and tried to drive it hesitated. took the metal plumbing apart and found that i had not snapped 2 wires all the way to the coil.

I checked them last night and they all appeared on all the way... I did not check the connection at the coil though cause I didn't have time to pull it all apart again. Maybe tonight...
