HID Headlight Conversion

HID Headlight Conversion
I got my xenon HID headlight conversion kit today and had them installed in about a half hour. Only problem I had was they sent me the single beam bulbs rather then the bi-xenon that I ordered. One phone call and the correct bulbs are on the way.
First impressions of the lights are good. I am holding my final analysis until I get the bi-xenon bulbs and can compare the high beams also. The light is definitely whiter than even the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs they replaced and they give good definition. I look forward to having a chance to do a little more real world testing to see if the difference is worth the cost.
Some specifics. The HID bulbs are rated 4300K temperature while the bulbs they replaced burn at approximately 4000K according to Sylvania's website. I do notice a difference in the whiteness of the light although it is very slight. Right now I am thinking that the biggest advantage of the HID lights is the little power they require to put out light equal to that of my Silverstar bulbs.
HID xenon low beams
Sylvania Silverstar low beams
After examining the pictures side by side, the HID light seems to be much more concentrated out in front of the vehicle than the halogen bulbs.

Street Wolf has converted his 2000 to the 2003/2004 style headlights. He is using a single beam HID set up for his low beams with no high beams.
This is where I got my lights from. http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/hidwholesale88/ The bulbs you need for the standard D2 headlights are the H4.

Update time. After putting my truck with the HIDs next to Disco Mike's with standard halogen, I really noticed the difference. Mike's truck seemed to shoot the light out further but mine definitely put out a brighter, whter light.
My bi-xenon bulbs showed up in the mail today to replaced the single beam I was mistakenly sent the first time. The wiring was a little more involved than the single beam conversion but still not difficult. Obviously I haven't had a chance to test the lights at night but as soon as I do I will post the results. I am expecting the results to be nothing short of impressive.
