I think that refers to some folk's views that the D1 cooling system or in-line thermostat mod is far superior to D2 system.
When changing hoses or thermostat you'll have more room to work by simply removing fan/clutch, the lower shroud and belt. The less than five minutes of off/on saves time and aggravation.

Thanks for the correction.

Now for an edit as I may have written too soon and still thankful. Never meant to be a "smart ***" as suggested and was merely relaying information thought to be correct. Term with a negative connotation had recently been a topic of conversation among folks I know. We did some research and came to the conclusion that jerry-rigged was the socially correct term to use for our application. We didn't find the true origins of jury-rigged so learning that today was new and enlightening to me.
Took the recommendation to "google it" and then later did it again including both terms, jerry/jury-rigged in a search.

I apologize for crashing the thread. This 9 guy has been picking at me and seems to have an obsession for commenting on this forum.

Life And Times
The phrase "jerry-built" has a separate origin and implies shoddy workmanship not necessarily of a temporary nature.
I wouldn't even reply to yours if you were not liked. Peace and love brother, chill & expand your world a bit.

wow....that was an interesting exchange....
well back to the thread!
The "notorious brass bleeder" is working just fine, but I'm still getting " A LOT " of air when opening the bleeder in the mornings.
At this point I'm even wonder if is worth the pursuit.
My wife noticed that there is some coolant spotting right underneath the truck, like right in the middle and towards the rear of the engine bay.
I can't see anything, what could be a common area to look for ?
Is this a common symptom for something?
