Default Hig Temp and chasing "the waterfall"l now..

When we bought the Rover we drove it home for about 80 miles.
Everything was great until we got off the HWY, temp started to move up. Pulled over, let it cool and refill the reservoir.
Drove it home with no problems, except : "the waterfall noise".
Did " the bleeding" twice and and the noise still there.
Anything else that we can do?
Also, noticed a little of "coperish particles" in the bleeding screen and on the thread of the reservoir cap. Can this mean anything?
Will post pics later today
Thanks for the time

the "copperish stuff is Barrs radiator sealer"

I would suggest flushing all that stuff out with water and put a pressure test on the truck to see where the coolant leak is coming from.

you have a leak that someone was trying to cover with stop leak, radiator, recovery tank, hoses, head gaskets, throttle body heaters are all common leaks, hence the need for pressure testing

something like that it what I was afraid of.
Now I'm wondering why I don't have any more temp issues, while idle, heavy traffic, etc.

flashed everything and replaced the coolant.
Temp still normal and waterfall still there.
I had been doing "the bleeding" every other day.
Today I noticed that there was coolant " around" the bleeding screw...
wondering if the washer or the bolt is going bad?
common symptom of anything else?

just checked again and the bleeding screw was wet.
When trying to bleed it again the screw broke!
Called around, nobody has the screw in stock, even the dealer.
The dealer has the T with all 3 hoses for $100, on my way to pick it up....
Hope the a bad bleeder is all I had and the air was getting in from there

Bleed screws and/or have been know to crack/break. They say you can get a replacement plastic screw at a BMW dealer if LR not available.

Leaking there can also be a symptom of limp wristing when re-installing a screw. Mine looked the same after my first bleed, a little more torque and seeping ended.

......

You posted as I was writing.

Hope the new hose assy takes care of it for you. Good idea to replace regardless since hoses didn't look that good.
