I am having the exact same problem with a 02' disco with 43k miles. Ill start it up When its been sitting for awhile and it will stay at about 1500 rpm for about 1-2 min.
The 02 is alot easier to correct for an idle problem.
Send me your tele number and a good time to call and I'll walk you thru it.
Mike

I cleaned the stepper motor and some on the throttlebody and still no luck. Is there any way to tell if the idle control valve/stepper motor is shot?

Alright cleaned everything and checked hoses. Still getting high idle on cold startups and hesitation at lower speeds. Any ideas?

1500 RMP for about 45 seconds after start-upis what Iget on my 2000 DII since new. This has not changed at all, now with 114K it's still the same
