High oil psi at idle. Clog?

Rover says xW30 is good for up to 95F ambient. And the 5w20 is rated for use from -35C to -10C (-31 to +14F). That's not enough in the summer. 5W40 Rotella would work on a wider temp range. One or two miles is just not enough time for the oil to come up to full temp. People in Birmingham know a thing or two about hot metal, they have a big statute of Vulcan on a hillside.
Ford spec's 5w-20 for all of their gasoline engines since the early 2000's.
And there is ONLY one reason they do, MPG.
Honda is working on a 0w-10 motor oil for their engines, to increase MPG.
As the EPA requires higher and higher MPG averages car manufactures and motor oil manufactures are having to figure out how to protect engines while reducing friction and right now thinner oils are the only way to go.
Every little bit helps, switching to a 5w-20 would prob save you a fraction of a MPG.
We have a similar problem with my wifes Sedona, so we take it for a "Sunday drive" once a week, cruise country roads and include a short highway jaunt too, 20-40 min's once a week.

Fine about thin oils for new modern engines, But folks here should understand not to use those thin oils in a 10 year old Rover with a 50 year old engine design. That is NOT what they are for. They will wear out your engine prematurely.
The same thing with Zinc additives. New engines don't need it. Rover V8's do. Hence Rotella.
If you doubt me I'll show you the bill I paid for a new camshaft and lifters when I had 45k on my engine. This was due in large part to the dealer putting Castrol 5w30 synthetic in my brand new engine... and I trusted their decision even though I had my doubts.
