Default High speed wiper question

Just bought a new to me front wiper motor to, I hope, fix a problem with them not wanting to work on cold mornings.

Anyway, I tested the wipers with the eBay wiper motor installed and everything seemed to work fine save for a 2-3 second delay when switching from low to high speed wipers.

Since I can count the number of times I've used high speed wipers in my Rover on two fingers, I can't remember experiencing this before.

What says the board? Is the delay normal or did I swap one bum wiper motor for another? Or..worse still, did I waste my time and money on the motor when what I should have gotten was a new switch?

Anyway...we'll find out one way or another the next frost.

Posted too soon and for no reason.

Darned things didn't come on this morning. Not even a relay clicking.

After the truck ran for a few minutes and the interior warmed up some, they would work but only when I turned the switch towards the off direction and then just for a few wipes.

Next purchase: wiper switch.

If that comes and goes, you may have a wiper switch that is starting to fail, which is common on D2's.

Dave you should have come on here first, you need a new wiper switch not a wiper motor.
Could have saved you some $$$.
Wipers wont work when cold, heat up the cabin and then they work, the contacts inside the wiper switch wear and then shrink when cold and wont make contact until they heat up and expand again.
Turn the vent on the drivers side toward the steering column, once the heat hits it it should work.

Default Hopefully thats what's wrong with mine...

Mine won't work on slow but work on fast speed. Maybe I should look at the wiper switch as well.
