Who has the highest mileage out of their disco? Let's see just how long these things run! I've seen people's signatures with over 200k mi, I'd like to see just how many are above that number and if the engine is rebuilt or not. I'll start:
2002 with 308700 km, or about 192000 mi. Engine's never been rebuilt

My '00 D2 has 292,000 miles, though it had an AB long block installed at 274K. Got to 274K with only 1 head gasket jobs, and pinning the cylinders. All other parts and drivetrain running great. No rust on the frame, though a bit of rust through on the RR passenger door frame just below the lock catch. Plan to do that mid July. Interesting bit about the engine.
I'm the 4th owner so I don't know a complete history about the truck after original owner sold it. Got the records from the local LR dealer, apparently the 2nd owner, young kid (?) toasted an engine and had another one swapped in somewhere, then tried to take it to the same LR dealer for "warranty" work, not realizing that they could tell the engine was wrong. 3rd owner, who was a certified LR mechanic who moved to the US from Manchester, England, got it as part of a deal with the kid's father for work on another car. He fixed all that was wrong to get it ready for his wife, who drove it for a while, then she wanted something else, so he sold it to me, with a warranty that he'd fix whatever else was a problem down the road. Bought it from him in August of '08. https://autobahnservicecenter.com//
After the AB engine work in '21 (work done by a different but great independent shop, https://strohmautomotive.com/, the UK mechanic had passed away) my wife has informed me to enjoy the truck, as it is the last vehicle I can have!! So my story of vehicles went from Corvairs to Peugeots to Volkswagens to Land Rovers! (with a Suburban in there as well).
15 years later, and the story goes on!!

Just got 200k on original block.
2.5 head gasket jobs. First was done with stretch bolts, second because my son didn't understand that 1 mile does not equal immediately when overheating and I used arp studs, and the. 5 due to bad gas.
I gave my daughter my car for college, so i am back to driving the disco daily until i can find a nice LR4. I do missed the double pump on the brakes, the constant watching of the temps, and the anticipation of the CEL. Been driving in the right lane just in case.

Over 300,000 miles
I have a 2000 landrover discovery with 300,591 miles on original engine. Still running strong 💪
Im the third owner, previous 2 owners I knew personally and were mechanics so this disco always got above average maintenance. Ive had it for 11 years now.
