Own an 03' Disco w/an OME 2" lift and 265/75-16 BFG's. Do I need a hitch w/a 2" drop or more. The next size drop that I saw was a 3-1/4" drop... all using a 2" ball.

For what?

I have various drop receivers depending on what I'm towing. You need to measure how far the trailer tongue is off the ground first to get your answer.

Edit: You also need to figure out how far the back end is going to squat depending on tongue weight to make that decision for real.

 

That could be a little dilemma. I'm currently looking online for used trailers. It is going to be used to transport a JD Riding Lawnmower out of state. Once we get to our destination we will be using the trailer again to transport a golf cart. I am currently looking at single axle trailers w/the ramps similiar to what you see at Tractor Supply. I'm thinking a 5'x 10' since an 8' long trailer might not be long enough for the golf cart.

Maybe I'll go down to the U-haul to see what they think for hitch since they have trailers onsite.

 

That sounds like single axle territory, which is muh more forgiving that towing a dual axle.

If you don't have the trailer yet, figure on a standard ball height of 21". So I'd suggest getting whatever makes the top of that ball sit about 22 or 23" off the ground to account for tongue weight. So measure the ground to the bottom of the receiver, and subtract 21. Whatever number you end up with is probably pretty close to the drop you need.
