Honest Debate, Rear Air Suspension
#12
I like the air bags. They are great for when I trailer the camper, or load up the back, provide a nice ride, and my 6 year old loves the sound of them...He says the truck sounds like a 18 wheeler when they let air out. I moderately off-road, and so far have had no issues, but then again, I have an '03 w/out CDL (yet, got the x-fer case in the garage waiting to install), so in my opinion, the bags aren't my limiting factor. Just my thoughts.

I am just about to decide what to order. I intend to lift my Disco II 2" with a lift kit from Paddok with coils and shocks, but then I have to convert the air suspension to coil. I can not decide if that is the right way to go for me. My air suspension works fine and I think I would like to keep the air by putting in spacers and not use the coils from the kit. Off cause at some point I have to change the bags before they get worn out. I use the car for towing as well so maybe I should keep the air.

Suspension
I did the conversion when I opted for the Rovertym 2" lift and Old Man Emu shocks. It was recommended by the place that I took it to and have no regrets! The air bag suspension is probably a more comfortable drive and my mileage was low when I did the conversion. I sold my air bags on Ebay and put the money towards another modification. It's really up to you what route you want to go. Everybody has an opinion on what works best for themselves. Good luck-
