Freelander Debate
So what is this new member of the family? Freelander that resembles something straight out of Asia major. I mean no disrespect but when you look at all the other members old and new: series, defender, rangerover and discovery, regardless of their age theirs something about each
and every one of them that is distinctive and very appealing. A natural eye turner. Combined with their legacy and here we are on landroverforums.com. Now if I had no prior knowledge of the family I would likely never be able to spot this here Freelander on the road, but of course I do know and I can't help but feel that the Freelander is simply out of place, like an adopted child so to speak. Perhaps I'm just underestimating its potential, maybe it packs quick a load on road as well as off road. Maybe but I haven't heard as much yet. So what does the rover community have to say about the Freelander?
PS: I bet it has high mpg at the least!

It's not new. It was introduced in '97 and was Europe's best selling SUV for quite a few years.
However, the engine/gearbox configuration the had in the US model made them very expensive to own due to mechanical failures.
