FYI I have a inline 180f thermostat mod as well as an oil cooler from an earlier disco installed so the air is heated up first by the a/c condenser then by the oil and tranny cooler before hitting the radiator. That being said @70-ish mph in 90f-ish weather with the a/c blasting i average around 195f. Around 45-50mph it averages around 180f. The main benefit ive notice is my disco cools down faster from hi temps (highway to traffic) as well as my average high temperature being dropped. I plan on relocating the tranny cooler and oil cooler using aftermarket cooler from between the a/c condenser and radiator and see if anything improves.

so.. just like the electronics and bare metal parts on a motorcycle then ?

or O2 sensors, oil pressure senders, pretty much anything lower on the engine that gets regularly doused with spray kicked up from the road?

When I did my louver project, I needed to vent excess heat that was melting my under hood wiring. I do have an extra hood so wasn't too worried if it didn't work out as I hoped.

We get a lot of rain in the Pacific North West. No issues after a year and a half.

Thanks for the link on the hood louver. I thought it looked very familiar, and it was only until I saw it online did I remember it as for being a perfect replace with H3 Hummers (used to own an H3 Alpha).

I think it's the perfect size for our D1/D2's. I'll more than likely go this route on my Kalahari. Thanks again!
