The passengers side looks a little tight thanks to the ABS, I'm not sure how well it would fit in the given space. That was actually the side I was originally going to put it on but decided against it because of that.

I will at some point install a heavier prop, but tight now the 40 is fine. Even the Chevy Tahoe only has one gas prop from the factory, and no hood mat for that matter.

Thanks though!

Do we really need the hood mat? What does it do? Is it for paint or noise? Mine has sucked since 2003 when an exploded pulley and belt put a hole in it.

I dont really think it's for paint, but it is kinda for heat and probably somewhat for noise. I have an extra hood that I bedlinered and I never had a mat under it. It stayed warmer to the touch, but never caused any issues.

Ordered my setup today, I went with the stainless mounts, so price was a little higher. 35.00 total, but 13.00 was shipping.

Thone stainless mounts should be nice. I went with black because they were available and, well, everything on my truck is black. Throw up a picture when you get it installed, I'd like to see how those stainless mounts look installed.

I work at a winery in central Texas, and we use stainless steel for almost everything, I know it may not be necessary, but force of habit. Anyway, like DiscoMike said earlier, one of the best mods on this forum.

Necessary or not, it will help with longevity. That thing will last forever made from stainless. Haha, seems like this forum is made up of 80% Central Texas with a little of the rest if the states sprinkled in.

Very kind on your part and Mikes, thanks guys.

Funny you mention that, I never really noticed how many Rovers were in Austin, until i got mine(I have been a Chevy guy since high school). Now I see them everywhere. I was in my front yard and I heard this loud exhaust noise, like blown exhaust gasket, and this white 00-02 Disco came around the corner with a young guy at the wheel and I tried to wave him down, but he had blinders on. The guy I bought mine from had 4 in his driveway.
