Horn and Cruise issue
Horn went off all by itself in the middle of the night, started thinking it was the alarm but wasn't. Touched the horn button and it stopped. Went back to bed, and then after getting up at 5:30 and getting ready it went off again. Touched the button and stopped. I pulled the fuse wanting to make sure it didn't do it while at work. Figured I needed new buttons...and no big deal. But now my cruise does not work. Can't seem to find a vacuum leak anywhere. Any ideas where to start? Any connection between the two? Does not seem to be in Rave.
Ha! the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel are on the same fuse as the horn so yeah that sounds about right. Just buy a new horn button and be done with it. It is an easy job getting the steering wheel off you don't even need a puller (can't even use a puller actually).
Yes they are related.
I think the horn fuse is the same for the cruise.
Your horn pad's are bad, this happens to almost every DII at some point in time and it is always related to cold weather.
The contacts in the horn pad shrink when cold and make contact with each other and the horn goes off.
If when you put the fuse back the cruise still does not work and the horns continue to go off for no reason it may be a bad rotator coupler.

Thanks so much. Gonna look for the buttons. What I have found so far, they are pretty pricey. But what isn't. I'm off to do diff's and transfer case on the wife's Disco.
