horn on disco
hi all just registered on forum can anyone help with problem. have only recently bought my firstdisco so dont know much at all.when i pull lower part of steering wheel towards me the horn sounds would be grateful for any info.[8D]
Why are you pulling on the steering wheel?
I would have to say that the contacts on the horn button inside the steering wheel are messed up some how and make contact when you pull the wheel.
Not sure how to fix it though.
Because of the airbag you might want to consider having a pro tackle this one.

Buy a set of horn switches from the dealer. Disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes to disable the airbag system. Put the key theignition and turn it to position 1. You can now turn the steering wheel to the left 90 degrees. Use a 1/4" ratchet and a T30 Torx bit to remove the airbag retaining screw and do the same to the other side. The screws should stay in the steering wheel but be released from the airbag unit. Unplug the bag and set it aside. Now unplug the connectors to the horn switches, and there should be a screw for a ground wire, unscrew it. To install, reverse these steps.
