Hot start trouble findings
Well spent some quality time with the Disco on Saturday. I checked various sensor readings hot and cold trying to trouble shoot the hot start issue and intermitent miss fire on the Disco. I checked the CPK and it tested good, however when I was putting the connector back on a piece of the brittle convoluted covering fell off. That's when I saw cracks in the wire insulation and .250" of missing insulation about 3" rear of the connector. I fed the wire up into the engine compartment, unpinned the connector, removed the convolute, and found that both wires had bad insulation and two areas where exposed copper could make contact between the two. I renewed the bad wires, put on high temp vinyl sheeth, and have been running smooth and hot start issue free for 2 days. Too soon to tell if it's fixed, but I'd avise others to check their wire condition as well. At 83K miles mine can't be the only one out there.....
