Default How to Best Replace the Air Condition Temperature Sensor

Context;
I am in the middle of replacing a faulty heater core I had purchased and installed three months ago; ugh. When I pulled out the current heater core I found a Denso 170400-4380 sensor stuck to the top. It appears that the sensor came loose with the adhesive side down and melted onto the heater core. Of course, when I pulled out the heater core the sensor wire snapped off.
Questions;
1) Has anyone replaced one of these before? what is the best, simplest, way to successfully complete this task? -the RAVE is seemingly unclear on this process to my neophyte eyes.
2) Where is the best place to order a Denso 170400-4380 Air Condition Sensor? -they can be found on EBay with prices that range from $13.51 to $56.32; that much price variance always makes me weary.

Thank you in advance for any assistance on this task; really appreciate all the knowledge on this forum.
Cheers, Mike

Quick updates;
  • Atlantic British was kind enough to replace the faulty heat exchanger for free. Reminded to pressure check unit before installing
  • Participant from a different forum recommended that I simply remove the climate control head to access the connector for the ac temp sensor;

Update; The access to the ac temp sensor is not through the dash. I can say with certainty that I now have a very clean internal dash. The actual access is from the driver side foot well. Remove 1) the center console, 2) the hinged cover under the steering wheel, 3) the driver side heater vent cover, and 4) the kick covering. The sensor spot and wire connections are then accessible.
