Default How to change oil by vacuum pump thru the diipstick

Hi Everyone.

I know it is very easy to change the oil on the Disco 2 by crawling under it
and removing the oil pan plug and out comes the oil.

I was working on an SUV that had a splash pan covering the oil pan plug
and I don't have my ramps or floor jack any longer.

So I got an HTmoto pump and sucked out the oil.
Here is the complete video sequence.

Yeah I know. Does not apply directly to the D2.
But I am a former owner and still miss the garage time with the D2.

Here is my old D2 page: http://jeffreyfall.com/landrover

Here is my latest garage work which is trivial compared to my days with the D2

Cheers,
J

Here is a video on one of those things you should not do at home.
My 2001 always had a whine or groan at idle.

Was trying to troubleshoot it.
Figured it was the power steering pump and replaced the power steering pump

Lastly, here is a bunch of pictures of replacing the head gaskets outside in a parking lot at night behind a building where I used to work in Boulder Colorado.
This was a lot of fun.

I used a battery and an inverter and a trouble light and got a lot of work done at night.

Took me too weeks but the D2 drove fine for about 10,000 miles then I sold it and lost track of it.

This was a lot of fun. Take it slow.
