How to deactivate security mode without taking to dealer?
i have a 2003 disco ii. And my key broke in ignition(Not original key) but I also have the fob(which is broken since purchase) I'm able to lock with fob can't unlock. I tired to activate the alarm so I don't have to keep leaving doors unlock. So I tried to open door and start vehicle nothing, couldn't crank ignition. Security lock has a steady flash. If anyone can help me with this problem and save a few bucks I greatly appreciate it. If I get another key made for the door will deactivate the security?

Do you have a key to use in the door handle? If so have you tried unlocking with the doors closed?
2 things:
1- You can open up remote case and locate the location where the unlock button used to be on the circuit board. Take a small wire and jump the 2 contact where the ends where soldered on the board. That would be best as you have engaged the alarm via FOB so disengaging via FOB is better.
2- If you don't have a key to turn the lock on the door you might be able to pull the door handle and manually unlock the door lock actuator with a phillips head screwdriver.
Good luck. Also where are you located?

I tried to lock and unlock after I triggered the alarm a few times nothing happened. I also forgot to mention I did disconnected the battery also at one point. When you say pull door handle do you mean taking the door panel off, also I don't know what the door lock actuator looks like
Your best bet is to jump the 2 contacts on the circuit board for the unlock switch.
If you have a working key/door lock them no need to remove handle to access actuator. Just try to lock with the key then unlock.
