Default How to determine if CDL of fitted to my 03?

Hey guys
How do I determine with certainty that the CDL is or is not set up on a 2003 S? The shifter, boot and instruction sticker are all there but is there any visual sign that indicates that the linkage is installed or not? I know that generally the 03 S trim does not have the CDL, but you never know if someone put one in or not.

Thanks much

Easy..its an 03...its not...cdl only came in 99, 00, early 01, and 04 models. Also it is only able to be activated while in the vehicle stock in 04, earlier models you need to buy a shifter/linkage.

My 2003 has the shifter as mentioned above.

yes they all have a transfer case gear level that lets you change from H and L gear but only the 2004 lets you actively turn the CDL on with it. as I mentioned, some earlier years have the capability to turn it on but you either need to crawl under the truck and turn a nut or buy a shifter from a D1 or a 2004 and install it to activate. The 2003 year truck did NOT come with the ability to use CDL. You'll need a new TC or at least front portion of one installed to use it.

That's the standard T-Case shifter. You can go from low-high range. The CDL shifter has a box shape, and it lets you lock the center diff. It looks different than what you have.

You put the truck in neutral while stopped or at ultra low speeds, shift it forward for low range, go back into drive. Now you're in low range, more low end torque and less wheel spin. It is highly useful offroad.

The owners manuals are contained in the RAVE files. They explain how to use the transfer case (and if you look at the 2004 owners manual it explains how to use the CDL). Of course I'm assuming you have downloaded the RAVE manual.
