your 03 doesnt have center locking differential available in the TC so you would need to modify the TC to be able to install the linkage. D1's and 2004 D2's come from the factory all set wtih CDL the 99-mid 02's have the guts in the TC but no linkage. late 02's and 03's have no linkage or guts.

If you get a used one, just clean it well and make sure the bearings sound ok and things turn smoothly.
Put some Prussian Blue on the teeth and make sure you have a good crown wheel to pinion mesh.
If that all looks good odds are good you'll be ok with it.
