How do I activate heated seats?

When you remove the existing switch panel to install the new one, you'll see two green plugs that aren't plugged into anything. Those are your heated seat switch plugs. Look under the seat next and you'll see a...yellow(?)...plug that's similarly not plugged into anything. It should be obvious when you look under there. I did this with my 2002. Fifteen minutes of fussing around, and what was once a several hundred dollar option almost two decades ago, was nearly free to enjoy.

I've understood you need leather seats to have the seat heating option.
My SE has leather seats but didn't have the seat heat switches. I bought the center switch panel with the seat heater switches and it was plug and play. Still works great.
