Default How do I bleed ACE System?!?

Currently rehabing a 2000 Disco II w/ 185000 miles. My ace pump is making some noise and the distribution block on the right side of the vehicle (under the pass. front door next to frame rail) is making a hissing noise, similar to bleeding off air, every once and a while. Not sure if this noise is normal.

Point being, I would like to bleed out the old fluid from the system. I purchased the Tech book from Atlantic British and it states that test book must be used to do this. Is there a way that I could bleed the system on my own without computer assistance. Also, I see that there is a filter that goes into the distribution block. I am assuming that this should be changed? Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.
