How I removed my fan
Just thought yall might like to see another way to remove a fan without the special Land Rover tools. I know I was looking for some pictures and couldn't exactly find what I was looking for so here is what I did.
Grip the water pump pulley with vise grips.
Position it so that its between the two pulleys.
I put a shop rag over the pulley when I did this, but for picture purposes I did not show that. I actually did it the first time with out a rag and it didn't mess anything up but I would cover it up so I don't mangle the pulley. It held great for me and my pulley bolts were not hard to break free at all! Worked for me!!!

You got lucky.
The vice grips usually chew the pulley.
I do it this way:
1) Get a large crescent wrench; adj it to fit the large fan nut exactly.
2) Wedge a large screw driver behind the crescent wrench and catching on one of the 4 nuts holding the pulley to the water pump.
4) Hold the screw driver with the left hand.
5) Get a short stubby 5 pound hammer and whack the top of the crescent wrench counter clock wise which is from right to left.
With any luck - the fan MAY come off.
