How long can you drive it with a slipped liner?
Earlier today I drove the car a little bit and there was NO white smoke. I topped off the coolant before driving it too... Could this still be indicative of a blown HG????
You've asked if white smoke is indicative of head gasket failure.
Now you're asking if no white smoke is indicative of head gasket failure.
You seem to be fixated on that one idea, but I don't think you know enough about how an engine works to understand some of the guidance you have been given. Maybe it's just cold where you are so the white smoke is normal, and needing to top off the coolant is because you need to replace the reservoir cap,
Find someone who knows these vehicles and these engines to give you some straight information.

I just remembered the last time I heard what I assume to be an actual slipped liner... could have been something else... But this truck, a 4.0, literally sounded like someone hitting a hammer on an anvil. And not some wimpy hammering either... It was much louder than the engine and reverberated off nearby buildings. The guy drove off like nothing was wrong.
Your video does not sound like that sound, just saying.

It does not sound like a slipped liner, and the timing is not indiative of a slipped liner,as the sound appears mhen you engine is cold. Slipped liners usually start making sound when your engine is hot.
Your engine appears to be running a bit rough, but the cause of that could be any number of reasons.
For example, how long had the vehicle sat unused before you got it? Discovers don't like to sit unused, and that roughness could work its way out by driving it some.
Start with the easy things, get fresh oil, new coolant of the same type that is there already. Flushing all the Coolant to switch types can be hard. Then drive the a 100 plus miles and report back.
Also, take a picture of your throttle plate heater, they often leak if you stand in front of your vehicle, the throttle will be on the right side of the engine on top with the two cables attached. Directly under where the two cables are attached is the throttle heater plate.

I still need to get them to look at the car once I get everything tightened up this tuesday with this other mechanic.
I have a few things being done to it like the coolant reservoir being replaced, o2 sensors are shot and need to be replaced, and the steering shock is bad.
other than that im gonna bring the car to the rover specialists in the future.
