How to make a cold air intake, by request.

Ok, this is very simple. It costed me about $65 plus the filter. I've been running this for about 14k miles and have had no issues with the K&N damaging the MAF. It should be noted, however, that the K&N WILL let in more dirt. If you're not ok with that, then find a paper pod filter you like or even use the stock filter box.
OK, parts list is short. Go on eBay and find a 45 degree 3.25" diameter turbo coupling and a 90 degree 3.25" diameter turbo coupling in your color of choice. Get the cheapest available. The ones that look prettier and are twice as expensive have simply been photoshopped. Ask me hiw I know. Let it be known, the 4.0 MAF housing is smaller and you will therefore need a smaller MAF side coupler.
Now you'll need a length of 3.25" OD pipe. I bought actual aluminum intake pipe and cut it to size, which costed me about $35. You'll need about 6" of pipe. As for the filter, I used a K&N e-1009.
Here's what the final product looks like.

Using this you can see very simply how it is assembled. The only real "custom" part is the extra intake tube right beside the throttle body which you can see here.

And from the inside here

I just cut the nipple with base off of the factory intake then cut a hole in the Silicon coupling just barely smaller than the nipple. I glued it, but it's not really necessary. As you can see the glue has peeled. I just recommend bracing it from behind when you slide the tube on and clamp it down which will keep it from sliding out.
The last thing is, I had to extend my MAF wires a few inches. I just cut, crimped, and taped over. The best bet here would be heat shrink over the whole deal, but I didn't do that.
And that's it! Easy peasy, cheap, and there was a slight but noticeable seat of the pants improvement in power. There was no increase or decrease in gas mileage.

Good job; but why is it called cold air intake ?
The air is taken from the inside of the engine compartment.
The stock intake air source is the chamber above the wheel, likely cooler.
What I see is just a colorful intake pipe for a K&N? filter in place of the air cleaner box.

You'd think so, but I compared with another guy here on the forum and mine was actually about 25 degrees cooler than stock. The best guess was that the sun was actually heating up the body panel and the air inside it.
Also, I didnt really know what else to call it. Haha
It might just look like a colorful tube, but it actually a lot better than stock as far as flow goes. The ridges and the sound deadening chambers damper flow on the stock intake a lot. I compared the K&N on stock intake to the K&N with this intake and there was a suprising improvement.

Few more reasons:
If your stock breather hose has problems, this is cheaper than a new one.
The parts and filter are easy to find.
It looks snazzy.
Opens up a little space for your hands when doing other things in that area.
List over. Can anyone tell me what the forward facing doodad on the 4.0 breather and the side saddle thingamajig on the 4.6 breather hoses actually do?

That AEM actually won't work. The inlet side of the MAF is actually a different diameter than the outlet side and the throttle body. What I did was I just walked in O'Reilly with my MAF and said I needed a K&N that would slip right on, so I'm not actually sure of the diameter.
