Default How NOT to fix a leaky TB heater

As I was installing a new SAI solenoid, I noticed the ever-infamous puddle of coolant on the drivers valve cover under the TB heater. So I think to myself, I can either bypass it, bypass it 'til I order parts and they're delivered, or let it go 'til the parts come.

Then I thought, wait, I got a sheet of cut-your-own-gasket material in the garage. Epic fail! I made sure everything was clean as a whistle, cut the gasket super like, and drilled the holes out for the bolts. Leaked even worse. So bypass 'til the repair kit gets here.

BTW, miamirovers on e-bay is selling repair kits for $22 with free shipping.

see Land Rover Parts, Accessories and Information

free shipping is nice, but seems like you could get next day delivery from some one closer. I do like saving money, but sometimes it is worth $5 not to have to drive in with SWMBO....

BTW thanks for the post, guess the reason they sell the plate in the kit (and not just a gasket) is that it warps, nipple breaks off, corrodes, etc.

I have the same problem, I ordered my kit from Atlantic British yesterday so hopefully I'll have it soon.

Living in New York, same as AB, it saved me over $10(tax and shipping) and only 1 day longer shipping.

I thought about trying a liquid form-a-gasket, but don't have any on hand.

If you have other stuff to buy anyway, rockauto sells it for $16.18. (but you have to pay shipping.

If you can cancel your order, A-B also sells the same part for $21.95 on ebay with free shipping. Direct from their site is $26.95.

Of course, I ordered mine this morning after needlessly buying a breather hose at the dealer than realizing that was not my leak at all, so you are still ahead of me.
