I just swapped out water pump for the bronze impeller version, replaced hoses, and put in the 180 stat. While I'm at it I'm changing the fan clutch. I got the GMC safari van, without AC unit. My only question is, How do I get the old one off the fan? I don't see any bolts or screws that can be removed to separate the clutch from the fan. Am I missing something, or am I screwed because I have an '03 that the two won't separate?

you do not.. on the 03-04 they are not replaceable.

I have a 2001 so they are two units..

Interesting how things change year to year.

I wonder when the LR3 will be affordable to the common man.

Jrod, because of the cost of a new fan, you have 2 options, either buy a good guaranteed used one from Paul Grant or buy an early D2 fan and clutch, replace the used clutch with the one you already have and us that. Fan looks different but it works well.

 

You could also use a $10 boneyard GMC fan slightly modded.... or a D1 fan or a Rangie fan
