How to remove speed sensor
I thought the same thing. That is why I asked what year his was. If the speedo is out it is usually because of the ECU or a short or the LCD is no longer working. The D1 I know have a Speed Sensor but I didn't think the D2 did.
just for info... in the Microcat says the following...
- D01.030 SPEEDO TRANSDUCER (FROM (V)7A000001)
- TRANSDUCER SPEED
- Part number: YBE100530
Yeah unless I misread wrong...it Watson auto trans section page 44-3 in the exploded view item labeled # 4 and says speed sensor. I thought same thing too.
See Attached. Looks like Oreily carries them. Learned something new today. Hope this fixes your issue. From what I can tell it should just pop out.

Thank for everyone's help! I did get a speed sensor and this part looks like I need to drop pan to install? Sound right? And just read latest post....#17 ZGPhoto you got me thinking.did I just waste $82? Also if installed if that is it, will speedo just start working again?
I posted this link much earlier in this thread. I don't think it is the part you purchased is the problem. Read the original thread that Zack (ZGPhoto) here: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...working-58937/
