This video makes suspension look slightly more easy than it really is but explains it well.

First, how many miles on your truck, do you go off road much?
What is wrong with your manifolds?
If you are replacing your shocks and you go wheeling much, you should replace your springs also since they are warn out.
Who's shocks are you planning on using?

if they aint broke don't replace them. but if they are noisy from loose studs then heat the truck up and take out the studs and use a 12 point 12 mm socket to get them off.

but heres a trick, use a stud puller and a torch to get the studs out. then use a thread chaser that is 8 mm and new studs and replace everything. its recommended you do both at the same time because you may have issues getting the manifold back on by itself.

@Mike

First, how many miles on your truck, do you go off road much?

It has about 108K miles on it. No, I have the truck for less than 3 months.

What is wrong with your manifolds?
There is a noise that sounds a lot like an exhaust leak when I press on the accelerator with the car in motion - which leads me to believe that the manifolds or the manifold gaskets have to be replaced - plus there is whining/whistling noise that is coming from the driver's side wheel...Any suggestions??

If you are replacing your shocks and you go wheeling much, you should replace your springs also since they are warn out.

No I dont going wheeling at all, but there is a bit of squeaking on the front and back shocks...also at the speeds of 50mph and higher the truck begins to bounce a great deal on a flat smooth road.

Who's shocks are you planning on using?
I have no idea who I should go with, but I am taking suggestions...I would like my truck to ride a lot like the Lincoln Towncar where you almost don't feel any of the bumps.
