Default How to test Mass Air flow sensor (Hot wire?)

Looked in the "How to" section and did a few searches, dont see anything on how to test the D2 Mass Air Flow meter/sensor. Can someone point me to the procedure?

Also interested in checking my Throttle position Sensor.

What sort of a problem are you having, what codes and who's air filter are you using?

Mike,

I think this goes back to his question of bogging down.

Yes. No codes when I last checked day before yesterday. Stock Airfilter housing and filter element. (I've read the thread about K&N filters possibly causing issues with the MAF)

Anyone know the procedure for testing the MAF?

I did unplug it when the truck was running,..............and it died immediately.

Don't waste your time, it is not a MAF issue, if it were you would be showing some 100 type codes or rich/lean codes along with a tranny fault.

Mike, did a rescan yesterday after washing the motor (thought I had stayed clear of the ignition wires/coils) and having a significant drop in performance......lots of misfire codes and bank one and two lean. Pulled the plug wires yesterday in hopes they would dry out..........but most likely will be water at the colil/plug wire area against the fire wall........not looking forward to trying to dry the wires/ coils out....but will if the plug ends dont solve it. Then will clear the codes and re-scan. I'll get back to you.
