Default I’m back!

You guys knew I couldn’t stay away. These damn things are entirely too addictive.

I’ll be updating my last build thread and just tacking on to that extravaganza, but thought I’d mention here I got another one.

- ‘04 HSE
- Turned 170k on the clock on the way home (1200 mile drive)
- Rear air bags
- Rear AC
- Uber cool (and dated) Nav head unit
- No 3rd row seat (but on the hunt)

I already have a healthy list to be sorted, but I’m super excited. Getting in it was like putting on a comfortable pair of shoes. If you are an addict like me, you can follow all the shenanigans on the build thread. WOOHOO!!

It is. They “detailed” it with Black Magic or whatever everywhere, so I need to properly clean everything away from the sticky and gross film on every surface, but the body is darn near perfect and ZERO rust. There are 2 door dings and then nothing else. The roof repaint was hasty and pretty crappy, but it looks better than oxidation and ca be saved with some effort. It obviously sat in the sun a bit with how warped the dash is, but the paint survived well. My wife even said, “the blue one was WAY nicer inside”. I reminded her the first time she drove that one was a number of months later after I’d cleaned and fixed everything on the interior. I’ll obviously be doing that to this one as well.

And I only flew to Kalifornistan for it. We left a few years ago and have less than zero intention of ever going back. Without going on a diatribe, about the only positive thing about that nuthouse is the rust free cars. I was reminded of how foul that place is by the concrete jungle that just stresses me out.
