I can't get end links for my TF255 HD steering bars. I think I got screwed.

Before I installed them I measured the threads. Looks like they are Whitworth 16G..whatever that means.

Has anyone checked on replacement boots? I have the TF rods and see a crack forming after less than a year on the drag link. A quick google shows them for other applications, curious if there might be crossover to the TF size.

I did and I found a website that sold nothing but boots and ball joints and tie rod ends…I’ll look for it.

I never bought them

this is not the one I was looking for but they offer similar: https://www.suspension.com/universal-dust-boots.asp

Mine came with 2 extra boots, maybe you have them laying around somewhere?

Thanks for sending that. Are those a friction or press on fit? No wire or zip tie needed?

Yes press on friction fit. It was a fairly tight fit. No mention of zip ties to install but I guess you could use one at the top.

Crossed-posted to this thread for more information. TF255 kits were originally designed with RTC5869 or RTC5870 (Defender type). But they temporarily used the QFS000010 & QFS000010RH (Disco type) during the COVID period.

Yeah, more or less the same response I got from them. I am still absolutely furious at TF about this.
  • It's bad enough that there was no info about the QFS000010/QFS000010RH in the packaging of the steering bars they sent me. So I spent stupid money buying different brands of tie rods that didn't fit.
  • But the worst part is that QFS000010RH cannot be found anywhere.
  • And to add insult to injury, the tire rods that come with the steering bars are such bad quality that the boots will rip in under a year.
I would not recommend these steering bars, or any TF product, to absolutely anybody.
Now I run the stock steering bars. I got them from FCP euro with a lifetime replacement warranty. The irony is that the stocks bars have already outlasted the TF ones, and the boots show no signs of deterioration.
