Default I got 99 Problems but

a TICK ain't one!

Just thought I'd stop by and visit my LR friends. Settled on a Acura RDX SH-AWD after looking at the Mini All4 Countryman, Toureg, Q5, Q7, and of course the LR3.

Funny thing is every time I'm sitting in traffic and I see a Disco, the wife and I invented a game centered around who can hear the tick first. I must say I've yet to hear one Disco without a tick in over a month. I don't miss pumping all that gas, or the $$ for mechanical issues, but I do miss everything else.

Let's hope we can get some info on the NA Defender reboot soon, concept pics, drivetrain info (diesel please?), anything. If it comes in under 40K USD, I'll be the first one in line.

As of the end of this year, Rover will not be making 4wheelers any longer so don't hold your breath, 2 wheelers are the only thing they will build.

Yes, please give us more detailed information. I hate to think that we will have to figure out how to keep ours alive for a lifetime.

Yeah, I was genuinely hoping to buy a used LR4 in a year or two because I fell in love with the one I test drove, I really plan to stick with the brand forever.

Sorry Mike, but that sounds like hogwash to me. Do you have an inside source at TaTa? There are talks of a "brand split" between Range Rover (more luxury) and Land Rover (more utilitarian), makes me think of Lexus/Toyota or Acura/Honda

They did start making a two wheel drive recently, Range Rover Evoque, but it's perhaps the ugliest thing they have every built. I think when they tossed the Buick 215, they asked GM, hey can we have the rights to the Pontiac Aztek so that we can also build the ugliest car on the planet?

To think that LR is not going to have to make some major adjustments in order to comply with all the new MPG regulation garbage coming out over the next few years is silly....hence the Evoque. But to think that LR will abandon 4WD altogether is a stretch.
