Default USA is just one country

I dont wanna import to the USA, the new frontier is Africa.
Thats where Im going.
I noticed out there they all drive posh cars and stuff but, I just need a landrover for the ruggedness of it and hey, I only paid like $600 for it.
All I want is a dash board and steering box, Im still hunting.
If you want to make ur USA Landrover a RHD, lets swap parts, I take ur parts, u take mine.
Im even willing to pay all the postage.
I dont even drive the car yet, its sitting in front of my garage awaiting conversion.
I drive a Nissan terrano 97, its called ford maverick here in this great country of Britain.

A freind in Canada imports it, and then brings it to the States.
I know it happens, my dad had a Nissan Skyline from Japan

You need to consider that you will also need to swap the brake lines, master cyclinder etc.
You might just want to look into buying a LHD from France, or Africa.

Urban Panzer and I were working on a money making idea to import diesel Disco's to the US, I would line up the buyers, he buys it in France, ships it to me and then I deliver it.
Just to give you guys a idea of what this would cost...
1993 DI with the 200TDI, $15,000 US, delivered.
Now, what you YOU buy for $15,000, a DI or a used LR3?
Not to mention that no bank is going to loan money on a truck that old and from another country.

Hi Kuds308.
Im ready and willing to swap parts.
The main part is the steering box which really, if you were to look at it is something that shouldnt ordinarily be transfered to the other side of a car, its easier to just get a LHD and take out my RHD Steering box which you can put in yours, with dash board and the same steering wheel.
Brake pipes are pliable or just use a flexible hose.
Anyway, Ive been to America 2 times, its not for me mate.
Sorry to dissapoint some people, but I love the Americans but, my brain cant handle the complexity of the place.
I dont know why but I just wanna focus on converting my RHD to LHD and ship the f*ker to Africa.
If I come back to the states again, its gonna be for a Landrover and some multicutural b++ty.
Ok, dont start me off, I just got back from Church.
Lets focus on the steering box and dash board and how I can pay for the shipping without any dramas.

So if you are looking to bring a 1995 Disco from the UK into the US...cant be done, it will sit at customs until 2015.
Sorry Spike, but you are wrong on this one.

1. It's 25 years for just any vehicle.

2. Foriengers can bring a car less than 25 years old into the US for a year. I believe it has to go back and be imported again after a year. Check this insane defender for a case of this type of import:

http://roverine.blogspot.com/2009/02...ale-in-la.html

3. You can bring in a truck less than 25 years old if it's on the NHTSA import list. Off the top of my head, that includes 1993 defender 110s, 97 discos, and some others. But it has to go through some MAJOR hoops and dollars to make it happen.

Here are some more facts about bringing in Defenders:
