I need brighter lights but not the bright blue hid

The ZXE's by Sylvania are very good, PIAA makes some Extreme White bulbs, and I think you can also find some Phillips bulbs that are close to the ZXE's.
I have the ZXE's in my 98 D1 and they're very white vs blue or yellow looking.
I've also gone crazy with Sylvania's LED Zevo bulbs for my D1/D2. I've replaced the brake lights, rear fog lights, reverse lights, and parking lights with 194/1156R/1156 6K White on the D2 and 1156R/1157R/1156 6K White on the D2. The LED in the third brake light I'm really happy with as the incandescent bulb didn't last long with opening/slamming the rear door, and the LED should last much much longer and take the abuse better. The light output is much much better and I shouldn't have to worry about housings melting, or bulbs going out for a long time.
At first I was going to use the 1156 6K bulbs in the rear fogs & brake lights but they ended up looking pinkish, so I placed those bulbs in the reverse lights, and then used the 1156R and it's a perfect setup.

The Sylvania ZXE's just looks bright, they're not.
The Silverstar Ultra is a brighter bulb, but you pay for that extra brightness with a vastly reduced life span (they only last a few months), never the price premium ($60 for a pack of two dual filament bulbs).
Now, all that said, I notice that you have a facelifted Disco, with the plastic headlamp assemblies.
Tell us, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being milk, and 10 being clear gin, what condition are your headlight lenses in?
If it's anything other than 9 or 10, polishing your lenses will be step 1.

Since he has the 03/04 style lights certainly a good cleaning will help, and when I had an 03/04 I had regular bulbs in the low and extreme white PIAA's in the high. Made for a good combo.
