I need a new stud (& new ABS sensor)!
Let this be a lesson. Use a torque wrench! So I over torqued my lug nuts (driver front) and the back of the stud (behind the wheel flange) snapped off while I was driving. The back of the stud rolled around between the rotor and the wheel flange and damaged the ABS sensor, tripping my warning lights (ABS, HDC,Brake,TC). Atlantic British sells the hub assembly for $399 (OUCH!!!) complete W/ sensor but I only really need the stud (& the ABS sensor). the sensor alone is $149 (DOUBLE OUCH!!). Any ideas where I can find a single stud, and a cheaper ABS sensor?
I find a lot of parts for my small herd of DII on EBAY. I have seen these sensors for $80 a while back. Too bad on this needless problem, it is why when I am at the the tire store, I go out into the service area and make sure that they use the proper torque link (100 ft-lbs) when the use the 1/2 inch impact wrench.
There is a real good possibility that if you try to press in a new stud, that the hub will now be tweaked and will shake. Buy a new or used hub and be done with it.
