Is this common? 👀🙏🏻👀🙏🏻👀

Does this cover look too bad to reuse? I can feel scratches with my finger nail. I’m not sure what constitutes getting a new front cover.

I've seen worse, you can only really tell how it's going to work once it's back together with a new oil pump gear. How scored is the cover plate?

To me it looks fine. But I’ve never done one of these motors yet. Lol

this is from the 4.6 I pulled from a parts truck to rebuild for my 2001. It never ran since I got it but I’ve torn it down and there bearings didn’t look horrible

I have a full set of stock size bearings and new cam and cam bearings. Was hoping to just polish the crank and install the new bearings.

You want to polish the crank and you want new bearings, but not in stock size.

If you polish the crank by .01 then you go to .01 oversized bearings for the rod and main.

Cam bearings are different. If you go with new cam and standard new cam bearings, then you want new lifters. New cam=new lifters. Old cam = old lifters. Closest match is best.
