And I thought I'd got away with it!
So there I was smugly reading others problems about this and that, HG's, Three Amigos, front Hookes joints on driveshafts etc, etc. So day ago went out in the D2 after fitting new rear SLS air springs and up pops the............the Three Amigos................as they say in France...........merde. So I switch off the ignition and restart the truck................they've gone
. So today I was retesting the SLS and went for a drive. I noticed the brake pedal was solid without the engine running but when I started the engine the pedal went soft and slowly continued to sink down and it would no doubt have reached the floor..............and what appeared...............our three pals the Three (bl00dy) Amigos
. So I took the truck back home and got out the Autel diagnostic kit and ran the codes............"1304 ABS shuttle valve electrical failure" showed under the ABS ECU. I cleared the code and then reran the test and the "Three Amigos" reappeared together with another load of dash lights. Checked the codes again and the same came up "1304 ABS shuttle valve electrical failure". So it looks like another job has appeared from behind the horizon (they are becoming very tedious). The WABCO is not leaking brake fluid that I can see so hopefully I can replace the shuttle valve assembly and forget it.
The other big problem is bleeding the brakes on the primary side circuit which requires cycling the shuttle valves to expel all of the air. I don't know how to get over this one.................any knowledge or assistance would be gratefully received.

Not many of us have the tool to cycle the shuttle valves....most just do it the old fashion brake bleed way. I also have used a one man brake bleader that attaches to my air compressor and it creates a vacum. Saves a lot of time.
Other option is to order the Autocom for around $100 it will cycle the shuttle valves.
Take a look at SuperSport's post here: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...-vmware-64725/

Many thanks ralphobell. I have an Autel MaxiDiag MD702 which should do this function the only problem is the software seems reluctant to update and times out. I'm working on that at present.
An interesting update. LR knew about the 3 Amigos problem in June 2007 when they produced Technical Bulletin LTB00060 and states IF customers complain they will do some repairs. According to them there are a plethora of reasons for the 3 Amigos and one being 'poor connections or wiring'
and they have the cheek to publish that.
