Default Identify plug on timing cover

There has been an engine oil drip since i purchased this 03. I got up under and saw this plug. I removed it by hand, and screwed it back in, but it stops and threads are showing. I snugged it up with a wrench, but it looks like the wrong plug. I thought this might be where an oil cooler would hook up because of where it is. Any ideas?

It is the large bolt right above the oil filter in the picture, if you look close you can see it does not tighten flush with cover.

You rate right, that was for the engine oil cooler your truck didn't come with. Might want to pul the plug and reseal it.

Thank you Mike, shouldn't the plug tighten flush with the flat side? It stops halfway up. It stops like it is hitting something.

I think there should be a metal crush ring type washer in there.

I had the same problem. I tightened mine and it stopped. I was told there was an o'ring that you can replace. Mine is not tightened flush.

There is an o ring, I have not seen a crush washer on it.

The o ring is closer to the end. Same one the oil lines use.
