Idiots guide to Discos

RE: Idiots guide to Discos
I think anyone that contributes to this forum falls in to the mechanical Good Samaritan category. I can't count how much money I have saved by reading the forum and doing things myself rather than paying a mechanic. Even the things I have had a mechanic do I could have done with help from the people on this forum but was too lazy.
A dedicated D1 site is a good idea if someone has the skills to put one together. I have done a lot on my truck but never take the time to get pictures while I'm doing it. Maybe when I repair my seat heater elements I'll slow down and snapped some pics for a how-to write up.

I think it doesn't even have to be a web site. Maybe a "maintainance/fix" section or a sticky thread for the D1 and D2 in this site will do.
No doubt these information has managed to save Disco owners thousands of dollars all over the globe or maybe has indirectly saved lives for maintaining a good truck -who knows?
We all know it can be done, a camera and an internet connection will do.
I don't know if I'm asking too much. But the forum has indeed been very helpful for me and I'm sure for a lot of "silent" folks out there.
Cheers.

RE: Idiots guide to Discos
That is truly wonderful news Spike, in-behalf of present and future D1 owners, thanks!
Is there a way that the moderators of this site can permanently post the "how-to" thread so it wont get lost as more threads pile up?
Other sites have this. I've tried our search function but it is not efficient. I typed "60,000" and "maintenance" Mike's checklist did not show up.
I ask the moderators to help us make a "maintenance or "how-to" section for Discos maybe with subsections for D1 and D2.
Just in case someone wants to contribute an illustrated step-by-step "how-to" for a specific task we can put the information there.
You guys do maintenance all the time with ease, take a picture and post.
It doesn't have to be all Spike, maybe someone can do something else.
Cheers.
